After taking my 2012 Ford Fusion to the dealership to have recalls addressed and I am assuming fixed, which include Electronic Throttle Body Recall 13N03, EPAS Steering Effort Recall 15N01 and still awaiting the Air Bag Recall. The Dealership Tech in which I first addressed an issue with a grinding and popping noise every time a turn to the left or right which in 2017 was reported has only gotten worse. I was told by the dealership after 3 days without a vehicle he could not hear anything that I was describing, so I brought home my car with the same issues. Fast forward to 2018 same issues just worse took it to another dealer who upon inspection said their is an issue with the Steering Rec. Column, but since there is not diag., code or the vehicle is not locking up on me...which I pray will never happen it would cost me $1600.00 to fix. I am so disgusted with Ford right now they used to be the only vehicle I would buy, but not anymore. So I guess I will wait it out to see if there is another recall coming on the Steering Rec., fix it and get rid of it....not at my $$.

My Ford Fusion has been a pain since I bought it and will NEVER buy a FORD again! First, the power steering went out. Ford dealership told me there was a recall. When I took it in, they didn't have the computer chip to fix it. So, I had to drive it with NO power steering until they got the chip to fix it. Approximately 6 weeks.

Then, it started making this God-awful noise when I turned the wheel just days after the recall fix! It took it back in. They had my car for 2 days and could not figure out the problem. I took the mechanic with me on a test drive to let him hear the noise. He heard it. Kept it again and still wasn't sure what the problem was. They wanted to charge me $100 to diagnose the problem, even though they never diagnosed it. Then I was told it was the Ball Joints, and it would cost me over $500 to get it fixed.

I took it to a friend who is a mechanic. He drove it and said it is NOT the ball joints. But, he does not know what it is. Occasionally the ABS light comes on (the little picture with the squiggly lines) when the noise gets really loud. The noise ONLY happens when it is HOT OUTSIDE. Not when the car heats up, but when it is actually HOT outside. This started last summer. I had no issues with the sound or the play in my wheel all winter. When it got hot again this summer, the issue started back up.

FORD NEEDS TO RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. My sister has the same problem with her 2011 Fusion. WTH?
