The backup camera on my Fusion has been failing to function properly this has occurred on multiple occasions while driving in the city as well as on the highway. When in reverse the screen goes black or has multiple squiggly lines going across then an error that cameras is not available when I put the car into drive the camera will sometimes appear and show what's behind the car, however, when placed back into reverse I get the same error I was on vacation in fl and rented a brand new 2020 Ford and the camera malfunctioned the same way while driving in the city I attempted online research and found that its not only the Fusion but many Ford vehicles with the camera back up malfunction

The dash lit up notifying of a parking brake error while driving. Got home, parked car, turned car off. Went inside for about two minutes. When came back outside, there was smoke rolling out of the window. Put fire out. After examining, the fire appeared to have started from something electrical in the center counsel on the right side. It caught the seat on fire, melted the counsel, and the roof. No smoking of any sort has been allowed in my car since I got it. It was stationary when the fire started, but it was immediately after being driven.

On multiple occasions, driving at speeds over 60mph for more than 50 miles, causes a system alert that says steering assist fault and the power steering goes out. The first time I was able to pull over before the power steering went out. The next time, my boyfriend was driving and he had to veer onto the shoulder. Most recently, my grandmother drove my car to the airport and was unable to get the vehicle out of traffic turning into the airport as she was not strong enough to maneuver the car into the parking lot. I regularly keep up with all necessary maintenance and have brought the car to modica brothers as well as a local mechanic and they have both told me it is bolt corrosion as they assessed all other possibilities. Upon research, I found a recall for Ford Fusion manufactured in hermosillo in 2013 under recall #19S26. I contacted Ford about having my car added to the recall and was advised to reach out to NHTSA. As this is a big safety hazard, I wish to have this addressed immediately.

This past Sunday our son drove our Fusion less than 1.5 miles to church, parked it and went inside. Around 5 minutes later, someone saw smoke coming out of it. The engine compartment caught on fire. The car had not been driven before that since Thursday evening. The car had the recall work done over 2 years earlier when we purchased it for the coolant issue suspected of engine fires. The car had no other issues and had it's state inspection a little over a month ago. Our insurance company has decided not to conduct an investigation as to the cause. Is this something you would be interested in investigating?

While driving all electrical components will go on and off, including put not limited to windows, locks, radio, heating/ac, and dash gauges. The mechanic had the vehicle for approx 2 months and could not solve the issue. A Ford tech even looked at the car and could not figure out the issue either. Several of the control modules were replaced, alternator and battery with no impact on problem. This is a daily occurrence.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. While driving at 70 mph the indicator light indicated that the transmission was in park while the vehicle was in motion. The vehicle lost power and shut off. The dealer diagnosed that the problem was caused by a defective purge valve. The contact was able to pull over and use the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was able to restart and the contact drive to his residence. The vehicle was taken to the D & D motors, Inc. (13655 E wade hampton blvd, greer, SC 29651) and they performed a diagnostic test. They advised that there was no recall on the vehicle. The manufacturer confirmed no recalls and no further assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 105,000.

My Ford Fusion has had a consistent electrical problem that affects many aspects of the vehicle. To start, I will receive a message on the dashboard that reads 'temporarily lost connection with the climate control'. this leads me to not having any control of temperature, seat warmers, ac, etc. I have also lost the control of opening or closing the both windows on the passenger side. This has forced me to keep the window open overnight. I am worried about anyone getting into my vehicle or potentially stealing it. I'm tired of this possible shortage that is happening and I have read many other's complaints about the same issues.

The battery dies after the car is off and parked for 1-2 days. I have replaced the battery twice in 2 years and have the same problem. It is a defect with sync with my Ford module. Once due to this the car died while driving and I am afraid it could happen again. Many other owners have the very same problem and Ford and the Ford dealership pretends they do not know what I'm talking about and act as if it is not a safety issue. This should be a recall. I am still making payments for this car and I have to get it charged every day and due to the pandemic this has caused extreme hardship, when it is more important to have a reliable car. I have charged the battery over 30 times. The car goes dark and unable to open the car with the remote and have to use the key under the door handle. Please help, I do not have the money to pay Ford for a defect that they caused in the module that drains the battery.

My car idles roughly, and has stalled while driving. It has no outstanding recalls, and still happened. A few months ago it was happening, and on my way to a repair shop, overheated, and did over $700 worth of damage. Now, a few months later, it's got a rough idle and stalled on me yesterday as well. I was slowing down to take an exit, but took the exit with no power. Restarted the car and was able to drive it home.

Constantly getting a message on dash "power steering assist fault". occasionally a message about transmission comes up but too quick to read. See that Ford has done a recall on both of these items but haven't actually issued it yet. My VIN is not showing as one affected despite getting these messages. I am hearing some sort of noise that we can not identify and worry it is something with either one of these issues. Hard to describe the noise but replaced brakes and rotors thinking it could be that but the noise is still there. Worried this could cause a accident. Not sure why Ford does a recall but doesn't send it out when it is a known problem. Usually hear the noise while slowing. Message on dash is random but always while vehicle is in motion. Doesn't stay on long and happens at least 1-2 a week. Started back in December 2019

The car stalled while driving at highway speeds without enough warning or time that would normally be required to bring it to a safe stop. Luckily I managed to avoid a catastrophe on this occasion. Subsequently, while I was waiting for a tow, I managed to get the engine started. But the stall reoccured a few minutes later (this time I was wiser and had moved over to surface streets). This on-off pattern would repeat itself several times. I never drove it on the highway again, after the first occurrence. For the sake of safety, I had it towed to the dealership for diagnosis.

Recently, I have been having issues with my electrical system/acceleration. I have a hard time getting my max A/C light to stay on and sometimes my radio display is delayed of coming on. Also, sometimes when I start my car, the dinging sounds distorted like my battery is about to die and I have a hard time starting the car. I started to think my battery was going bad but then one day I was driving down the road (in motion), my car was still running and no warning lights displayed, but I lost all acceleration. I had to limp my car to the nearest parking lot as I could not get any gas power. I turned my car off and immediately turned it back on and it worked just fine. Then a couple weeks later it did the same thing. I again had to shut it off, restart, and it worked fine. I have not had that issue since then but it is still worrisome. Luckily I was not put in danger especially since my 6 yo son was with me. I would hate to think of the outcome if this happened on the interstate or somewhere when I could not easily pull over to the side of the road. Is there a recall on this?

On 10/10/2019, my temperature gauged spiked up to high and instantly dropped back down to normal while stopped at a red light, then the car disabled itself, leaving me stranded. Replaced the temp. Sensor and added coolant and was able to restart the car. On 10/30/2019 it happened again while driving on city streets, leaving me stranded for a second time, so I replaced the temp. Sensor again thinking it was defective. On 10/12/2019, it happened two more times, also while driving on city streets, and with doing more research, I found it stemmed from a manufacturing recall #17S09/ NHTSA recall #17V209, (coolant leaks/engine over heating). On 10/14/2019, I called advantage Ford in stuart, fl and was told to bring my car in on 10/23/2019 to have the recalls(which I was never notified of) taken care of. On 10/16/2019, my car started blowing white smoke out of the exhaust and when I called back advantage Ford, they told me to bring it in right away. Since my car was no longer drive-able, I had to have it towed to the dealer. When I spoke to the technician at Ford, he said that they would take care of the recall and replace a hose that was leaking, but that the damage was already done to the engine, probably bad rings (because the coolant leaked causing the engine to overheat gunking up the oil in the engine), and that this was our fault and that I should trade the car in while it still runs! he wasn't sure of what the problem was, nor did he suggest any type of repairs, just that this was our problem. On 10/22/2019, I called Ford customer service and reported the problem. I was given a case # and was told that I would be contacted by a regional customer service manager. On 10/28/2019, we were told by the manager that their Ford mechanics would have to breakdown the engine to see exactly what caused the sludge and if they are at fault or if this is our problem.
