The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while his wife was driving approximately 55 MPH, she felt that the brake pedal was soft whenever depressed. The contact's wife pulled off the highway and parked. The contact's wife placed the vehicle in park(P) and started to pump the brake pedal and stated that the brake warning light illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to the residence and he examined the brake lines and observed that the front passenger-€™s side brake hose had ruptured. The contact replaced the brake hose with the OEM manufactured part. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle had been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 138,800.
