problem #2

Fusion Hybrid 1.9L I5

Easy fix, just a little annoying. You can not open the door from the inside, but pulling the handle and lock at the same time works.

problem #1

Dec 072016

Fusion Hybrid

  • Automatic transmission
  • 78,000 miles

The door on the drivers' side does not open from the inside if it's locked. If you want to get out at any time, you must first roll down the window, make sure the lock is unlocked, reach out the window and pull out the latch, open the door, making sure it does not slam shut before you get out. Not only is this a royal pain, I feel it is extremely dangerous. If I were in an accident and needed to get out fast, I'd never make it. This is just ridiculous! I noticed that the 2009 and prior year models had this problem and cars were recalled and fixed (I assume). If 2009 was the last year of recalls for this model, one would assume the problem would have been factory-fixed for 2010 years and beyond. Either that, or 2010 should be on the recall list if the same problem is still happening. I feel this problem could be very dangerous and would like to have it fixed. My dealer told me it could cost any where from $195 to

$500. This is insane, as this is a glitch and nothing I have done to make it happen. Please tell me what I can do to get this problem taken care, as I'm sure I'm not the only one dealing with this.
