Fusion Hybrid

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion hybrid. The contact stated that while attempting to park, the vehicle surged forward without the accelerator pedal being depressed, causing the vehicle to crash into a guard rail. The vehicle was not included in the NHTSA campaign number: 14E028000 (equipment). The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. The contact stated that the front seat passenger sustained injuries to the head and face that required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to independent mechanic but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 36,000.
