I purchased 2 brand-new bf goodrich traction T/a tires - 225/55/R16 95H tires on or about 09/0109. 3 days later, with approximately 300 miles on these tires, I experienced a blowout on one of them due to sidewall failure. Tire was replaced with same tire and 2nd tire was inspected and I was told it was fine. On 10/08/09 I experienced a blowout of the 2nd of the 2 original tires, again due to sidewall failure. I do not have the dot number from the 1st tire, but the dot number/id from the 2nd tire is: Be6rmc11.

Tires that were purchased Feb 2004 with 25/30 K on them dry-rotted to the point they could not be balanced and were a safety issue. Original tires were Goodyear american Eagle GT size P225/5516bw.. these tires were not parked on anything that could cause a moisture issue and they were never cleaned without proper cleaning materials.

While driving 45-50 mph, passenger rear tire disintegrated from vehicle, however consumer was able to pull to the side of the road. Goodyear inspected tire and advised there was a small puncture which caused tire to lose pressure and disintegrate. Consumer's family member suffered back injuries as a result of the accident. Consumer is very concerned about the safety of the 3 remaining tires because window sticker stated vehicle should have 16 inch tires, but this vehicle has 17 inch tires. Tire size 245/445zr17/original tires/tire mileage-5300mi/dot number M68rfc2R4700.
