Ranger XLT 2.3L

I have a 91 ford Ranger, the truck starts,runs, and drives. I loose power going up hills and straight always. My go cart goes faster then this junk! Could someone please help

The transmission is a manual, and works great

i may be going up a hill, or not even so neccessarily, and when i hit the gas, the truck won't accel to desired speed.
