problem #1

Dec 122014

Ranger XLT V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 150,993 miles

Had an issue with my left hand signal shorting out when the tilt steering was in the down posistion, flasher worked when the tilt was in the up position. Had a mechanic look at the problem and found that one wire was broken off and 2 other wires had been fused to the mechanism harness, clearly this is a fire risk and there is a flaw in the design of the tilt and electrical system inside the tilt steering column. Ford needs to issue an alert for Ranger owners and have a recall on this defect.
