problem #1

Ranger LX 2,5

  • Manual transmission
  • 21,000 miles

Bought a brand new 2010 Ford Ranger after I wrecked my 2001 Toyota Tacoma with 150,000 miles and never 1 problem. Wanted another Toyota but dumb me thought I was being wise by buying the Ford for about $3000 less. Truck now has 21,000 miles.

One day I noticed my passenger floorboard with about 1 inch of water. At first I thought AC not draining. It's not heater core, no coolant, just nice clear water. Cleaned up the mess and thought had I left window down? It had rained that day. Anyway been riding around 2 months with the mat pulled up to expose metal floor. Only gets wet when rains. I now think it must be coming through rear window seal, water always starts behind seat. Gonna just seal it with some silicone sealer for now and see if leak stops, later can have rear window seal replaced.

If truck was 10 years old with 100,000 miles I could understand having a problem but 21,000 miles and this. Glad truck does not have carpet but still hard to dry out the insulation, have wet musky odor. Have to park truck outside at work and rained all nite one nite and floorboard flooded again. Wish I had bought another Toyota.
