problem #2

Aug 102019

Taurus SE V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

Completely stopped in the middle of the road in 5-530PM rush hour traffic. I replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter.

Yup, lesson learned - don't purchase a car with low miles on it that's 20 years old. I'm up to $2,500 in repairs since July 2019. I knew about $900 needed to go into it initially, but this sucks. I have payments on it until the end of 2020, so I'm stuck for a while. I'll just keep dumping money into her until everything evens out.

Luckily it's immaculate cosmetically inside and it's super comfy to drive.

Since July 2019, I've replaced:

1) motor mounts 2) serpentine belt assembly 3) power steering pump 4) idler pulley assembly 5) brake pads 6) ball joints

It needs a full tune up, oil change, and 4 tires.

Taurus SE V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 162,000 miles

The fuel pump stopped-and unfortunately, without a fuel pump, the car doesn't run, so it has to be replaced immediately, which is why the level of inconvenience is high.
