NHTSA recall campaign 04V332000 concerning front coil spring. After having the protective spring shields installed and while driving driver heard a loud knocking noise coming from the left front. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that the struts needed to be replaced. However, when taken to another mechanic, it was advised that the struts did not need to be replaced.....

While driving at a slow rate of speed, broken spring punctured left front tire, necessitating the replacement of the spring, tire, strut, strut mounting bearing and left front sway bar link. Right side strut and spring were also replced at this time.
