It is 0 degress and I have NO HEAT. I had it flushed a new thermastat and cleaner in it. STILL just warm air. I tried the A/C and it was warm heat !

The heater stopped working. Sludge that was flushed from the coolant system was unbelievable. We replaced the heater core and it is still not working. Now we are looking at the blend door or the water pump.
So frustrating when so many people have the exact same problems posted over and over on line.
Ford should be making good on this.

this ford Taurus has a radiator bypass before the heater core and the hot fluid goes through that first, so you get no circulation, and you freeze in the winter, or when you come to a stop at a light the air gets cold, what a ridiculous set up, they should be sued, they are putting out junk these days, i only owned fords but the ones i got are a real piece of work, they used to have a great heating system, well i bought a nissan now, so ford can kiss my grits.

My wife (2000) and sister in-law have this (2001 taurass) car. Nothing but problems. I flushed the system 4-5 times in the past year. I changed thermostat. I flushed just the heater core. I vise griped the heater core bypass so the heater core gets full flush. Helped for a couple months. In middle of winter she started having problems with heat again. We changed heater core. 3 months now and still GOOD heat. I have old heater core still (out of car). Im going to check its flow thru. To see if it is clogged. I heard these cars have internal corrision problem. Hope this helps. now i have to go work on another vehicle. :o)

The cold weather started rolling in. All of a sudden, BAM! no heat. After flushing the radiator 3 times, and almost going crazy, I found a post online about the mysterious blend door actuator. I ended up getting one from a 1998 Sable, which worked jut fine. The blend door actuator is under the glove box. It regulates how much air comes in from the heater. As the name implies, it blends hot and cold air to your desired temperature. I opened my old one up and it turns out there are a ton of small plastic gears in that little box, no wonder it got worn out. I could not find ANYTHING about that part in the Ford repair manuals,m it must be reserved as a cash cow for dealers.

Heater stopped working on 2000 Taurus (no more hot/warm air blowing out, just cold) after turning heat control from 'hot to vent' . Occasional hint of warm air for maybe 5 seconds, then cold again. I understand the 'blend door' may be the culprit, and is located behind 'firewall' in storage ('glove box?) box on passenger side. I was told to 'bang' on the wall to possibly 'unfreeze' door!!. Just bad timing (December) for no heat. I do smell Antifreeze on occasion, but the reservoir is at proper level.

I have a 2000 Ford Taurus and my heater has stopped working. I have replaced the thermo stat, flush the radiator twice and next step is the heater core and we're not sure that will fix the problem. If anyone out there has the solution for this problem please share it with me.

I have a Taurus and my only beef is the heater. If there are more than one hundred complaints about the heaters in the Ford Taurus, those that own a Ford should come together and start a class action suit against ford for not fixing the problem...Nationally.

I have a 2000 ford taurus. my heater stopped working, ac works great unless i give it gas to pull a hill and then it blows thru the defrost what is up with this car? I have had the car for about a year and a half now and I'm not really sure when the heat stopped working. I replaced the thermostat and that didn't help at all. I also seem to be losing antifreeze at a very slow rate and I can't determine where it is leaking from. The leak seems to be irregular as well, as in it doesn't seem to be always leaking. I'm not sure where to go from here.

My heat just wouldn't get hot. It would only blow warm for a few minutes. It was really cold out and me and my son were freezing. After a coolant flush, replacing the heater core, and some other tests we located the problem my blend door was broken.

My wife's car had complaint about cold weather does not working heater . So i replace thermostat and flush getting a little warm then 2 week don't work at at all. I notice after I flushed and new anti freeze . its starting rust in coolant so i went ahead to redo with super flush clean out rust .put new coolant in still a little warm . I still don"t understand what the heck is not working so i keep working on and when i turn on heater and vent/floor its run a/c cold air same time heater its don't make sense to me. So i use vise grip to clamp hose where the heater core area between 3 way line i clamp it on hose . It give a better warm for use floor , not use vent/floor but not enough warm or hot at all

Ford Dealership will charge $400 to flush heater coil. BUT, if the coil breaks, they charge $800 to replace heater coil.

The heater stopped working and I live in Michigan where it's pretty cold. I have had
it flushed several times and some part replaced that look awful and rusty but that
did not fix the problem. I do get intermittent light and I mean light heat from time to
time. I've heard that this problem is pretty common and want to know why it has
not been recalled. Freezin in Michigan.

The heater blows out warm air at first and before you know it cold is present. Turning the heater off for a minute helps, but is annoying because you have to continue to turn on and off the heat. the thermostat has been replaced, and the radiator flushed, but the heater is still not working properly. the heater core has been inspected and does not need replaced, no leaks are prevalent. could this be a sensor problem??? I am running out possibilities, and the ZERO degree weather is right around the corner. please email me some suggestions. thank you in advance.

The car heater will blow warm (not hot) for a few seconds, then will blow outside temperature air into the car. This isn't a huge problem unless you want to be remotely comfortable. Outside air is not comfortable at 0° F. I have had the heater core flushed, replaced the thermostat and was told that the heater core was fine and that the thermostat was not the problem. What the heck is it.

The heater would blow out slightly warm air for about 20 seconds. then it would be cold again until i turned it off for a few minutes and then i could turn it on for another 20 seconds of heat. but some days it will never warm up. I put in a new thermostat but it is still not working. i dont know what my next step is. i was given a few suggestions of having the radiator flushed, or maybe it's the heating coil. i dont know. that's why i came to this website to see if someone else had this problem and what they did.

I have a 2000 Ford Taurus LX with over 100k miles it has no heat!!! I have two small kids and we can't figure out what is wrong with the heater!!! We fixed the hose...the heater core....and the thermostat!! And still NO heat!! I don't no what else it could be.
There is enough coolant and flushed that out still nothing.. I need help trying to figure out what is causing this car to have NO heat.
