The contact owns a 2002 Ford Taurus. While driving 5 mph, the contact heard a loud noise and the vehicle stopped. The road conditions were normal. The vehicle was towed to the repair shop and the mechanic stated that the passenger side front coil spring failed. The coil spring punctured the tire. The current and failure mileages were 60,000. 2002 Ford Taurus. Loss of brakes due to malfunction in ABS system. Removed fuse to the ABS system and the brakes returned. Daughter was on way home from work and went through a red traffic light because there was no brakes at all. Good thing late at night and no one to be hit. Ford continues to say not a recall problem.

The vehicle has been to an independent repair shop, and they too were unable to diagnose the cause of the problem. Also, the contact detected fumes coming from the engine. The vehicle was taken to the same repair shop, and they determined the radiator overflow tank had a crack on the bottom. No repairs have been made.
