I saw a recall notice in the news: 06N07 7807 for my vehicle powertrain control module PCM recalibrating for the flex fuel. I never received any notices by usps and have lived at the same address since 1984. I had the Taurus into two different Ford dealerships for service and no one mentioned the recall. As I am retired military my vehicles are always kept in top condition for travel at anytime. I was refused service on the Taurus ( tow different Ford dealership had completed work on the Taurus, without taking care of the recall) the service rep stated that the time for repair had passed. No wonder Ford Motor Company stock is down in the time passed, (I have service bills that show that two different Ford dealerships and I do have starting problems with the E85 fuel. I am wondering if other consumers have the same problem with the lack of notices for recall. I just want another dealership to repair the problem and make a customer and shareholder happy...updated 08/27/15

About a month ago while driving on the freeway, after accelerating, the vehicle wanted to keep accelerating. I maintained speed by braking. I pumped the gas pedal a few times which seemed to fix the issue. This occurred a few more times over a months period. The beginning of July 2014 the same thing happened but pumping the gas was ineffective. I braked and pulled off the road. I put the vehicle in park which made the rpms go quite high and then shut the engine off. I looked under the hood and found a cable disconnected going to the throttle which I believe is part of the cruise control. I reconnected the cable and was able to drive home. Today I went to the Ford dealer to discuss the issue. They gave me the contact info for Ford owner and I opened a case. Ford said there is currently no recall for this issue. Currently the car seems ok but the problem is intermittent and im not sure if the cable will disconnect again. Incident was a bit nerve racking but could have been serious if I needed to bake quickly.

While driving on freeway I realized car was going 70 mph with my foot completely off the gas pedal. I thought maybe the cruise control was on. I pumped the brakes several times which slowed the car down but the car would speed back up to 70 with out me touching the gas pedal. I found the on off buttons on the left side of steering wheel and pushed off several times, then tried pushing on and then off. The car kept going 70mph. I put my right foot underneath the gas pedal and lifted it with my foot in case it was stuck but that didn't make any difference. I exited the highway ready to shift into neutral but the breaks slowed the car to a halt. At the stoplight I began to release the break and the car started to go again with out me touching the gas. We pulled over and parked the car and turned it off. For some reason this fixed the problem. My 3 kids were in the car with me and I discussed all of this with them as it was occurring. I joked about it being a google car but it felt more like christine from steven kings novel.

After getting off of the highway, while driving through a 30 mph zone, car started to accelerate without stepping on the accelerator. I pulled over and put it in neutral and it was racing. I shut it off and waited and started up and it was still racing, I stepped on the accelerator quickly on and off and it went back to normal. I drove down the street and it did it again and again I put it in neutral and kicked it down with the accelerator and it hasn't happened since. It seems very intermittent as the last time it happened was 2 years ago. It is very difficult to diagnose because of this.

I was braking to pull into my driveway, and all of a sudden the car's RPM went from normal up to 4500 rpms. When I would press the brake, the car would not slow down, it kept accelerating. I finally put the car into neutral and was able to stop the vehicle.

Vehicle accelerates on it's on. Vehicle decelerates very roughly when approaching zero speed, I.e., at red lights, stop signs, etc. Have no idea why I am telling you this. You crooks never honor any problem you build into these cheap vehicles.

Our company has 2 of the 2005 Ford Taurus. Both bought new from Ford dealer. Within weeks of each other in year 2009 both experienced major problem. The vehicle would accelerate while driving and while at stop. Driver could not brake to deactivate cruise or put car in neutral to slow down. Rpms revved very high. Driver had to keep both feet on brake to keep car from moving when at stop. Both taken to Ford dealership for work. Different things were done to prevent. I have recently read an article on investigation into this same problem. I felt it important to relay this information.

During warmer months vehicle will accelerate on its own. The speed is about 30 mph up pass 60mph. You have to push the gas pedal to floor to stop the acceleration. We have taken to Ford dealership several times. They find nothing. We have almost had several accidents.
