The contact was able to restart the vehicle as it resumed normal operation. The failure persisted intermittently. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure and a vehicle data recorder was installed in the vehicle. The fuel pump and relay were later replaced yet the failure persisted and the dealer replaced the fuel tank and throttle body. The failure persisted. I purchased a new Ford Taurus on 9-16-09. Shortly after that, I noticed that all the running lights and interior lights would go on and off while the car was parked in the garage. I also noticed that the drivers door would unlock while I was driving it. I was told that a part was ordered on 10-27-09 and as of this date (12-10-09) the part has not arrived. The car has been "out of service " for 17 days.

I purchased a 2009 Ford Taurus demo. With a 1000 miles on odometer on July 30, 2009. On Sept. 26, 2009 I was driving in heavy rain on rt. 220, near state college, pa, at 55 mph. Suddenly the motor turned off and I had to drift off the road to stop. The lights, wipers and my radio were still working. I tried to restart the engine but there was no response. (not even trying to turn over the starter.) I tried off and on for 10 minutes to restart the engine when it finally did start. I took my car to the blaize alexander Ford, Inc. And they claimed that they could not find anything wrong with the software, or the electronic key chips. They are located in lewisburg, pa on rt. 45, 2265 old turnpike rd. 17837. Tel. 1570-524-7267. I called kenny ross Ford dealer when I returned to pittsburgh. They told me that there was no point in bringing it in to them because they software tester would only show the same results. Their service mgr. Told me to bring it in the next time it happens. That may be too late if it causes a crash, or our death. I am taking it to them anyway on 10/15/09. I believe that they should give me a new car to replace this one since I have totally paid off this car on August 10, 2009.
