problem #1

Taurus SHO 3.2L V.6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 65,000 miles

occasional missing then barely runs

Missed a few times early in trip. Let fuel level get kind of low and started missing more. Thought fuel pump might be struggling to pick up fuel. Refueled and problem continued to get worse. Came to a stop on interstate ramp and wouldn't restart. Pushed into gas station and filled up. Took about 1/4 tank to go ten miles with fuel leaking out the exhaust pipe. Injector was stuck open and had to be replaced at cost of $800. Then catalytic converter was bad and needed replacing also but that was under emissions warranty. Very dangerous condition.
