5 April 2022 my 2010 Taurus SEL 3.5L engine overheated unexpectedly and the temp warning light came on my way home. I let it cool down during a heavy rain before heading home. I left the vehicle at a gas station for a couple of hours and return to bring it home (3 miles). Temp gage remain steady (3 miles) until it was parked on my driveway. The next day, I conducted an assessment to the cooling system. Reservoir was completely empty and my oil deep stick level was higher than normal 1 inch above max range. It showed coolant contamination. I read several reports about a flaw with the internal water pump design. If indeed is a flaw design or pump manufacture defect, why Ford Motor Company hasn't fix the issue or provided a solution to alleviate this flaw? Now I have to incur on major engine repairs or replacement, in which I am not sure if it is cost effective. Current mileage 171,424

My 2010 Ford Taurus front driver door first felt like the door handle was sprung. It did that for a week or two. Then next thing I know I can't open the door with the handle on the inside of a door! I have to lower window, unlock the car, open handle from outside. Then raise drivers window, get out of car and then lock the door. This is very difficult because I'm going through active breast cancer treatment and having to bend my arm like that.

Recall 15S02. Purchased used Taurus and discovered left rear door latch lose. Found out that recalled was performed on 1/27/16 though does not look like this handle was fixed. Contacted Ford and they said they are unable to do anything - despite their failure to remedy this issue. The handle exhibits everything that was basis of recall. The handle return spring is unseated and sitting on its side, spring retainer wall is lissing/broken out, etc. Former owner was elderly man who said rear seat never used so broken handle is not due to over use. In my opinion, the dealer who performed the recall work on 1/27/16 overlooked or failed to address the left rear door handle - though Ford is using that absolve themselves of their responsibilities or obligation to remedy. We now have vehicle with defective left rear door handle that pop open and injure passenger. Ford provided case number cas-17185195 for conversation I had with their "cutomer service" representative on 2/19/19.

Moon roof will not close all the way. Front spring loaded close out seal on car as part of track of moon roof not letting moon roof go down. Held seal down manually, started moon roof forward with forward moon roof switch and moon roof works perfect just so you know to look for binding or obstruction if roof will not close. Not in the book

Bad water pump design in Ford Taurus according to our mechanic. Car has 110000 miles. Immaculate service records. No warning. Car had no leaks. Left us stranded in the middle of nowhere. Driving car and car just shut off. Apparently engine ruined now. Engine overheated rapidly.

I have problems with brake and transmission passes the changes and gives a hit. The brake is going to the bottom and makes noise, on occasion gets hard the pedal and no brakes, I was talking to a person who has a Ford edge 2010 and it passed the same, the person called to Ford and had a recall and Ford fixed it, I called for my Taurus no recall of that, but it is curious that suffers from the same problem and Ford not give me a recall. Sometimes when I accelerated the car does not respond as suppose to.

Opened my sunroof and it broke. It got stuck open and we had to take it apart to get it closed. Now I have to pay to get it fixed when it was plastic pieces that broke. Had a storm come through and the inside of my car was flooded. I have record of everything. Seems that if water gets on the electrical parts it will start shorting everything out causing the car to catch fire.

On two occasions the vehicle has stalled or lost power while in the process of driving. The first time this occurred the vehicle was traveling 20mph approximately 10 minutes into the drive. The second time this occurred the vehicle was traveling 55 mph while set on cruise control five hours into a drive. In both occurrences the display indicated to put shifter into park while the vehicle was stalled and still moving. While the vehicle was stalled the power steering and braking was disabled. After pulling over to the side of the road, placing the vehicle in park and restarting the vehicle operated normal. The Ford dealership has tried to diagnose the problem twice without success. The dealership has contacted Ford and they state they aren't aware of any problems of this nature. This is a very hazardous condition to occur while traveling 55mph on a curvy canyon road. I'm very concerned with continuing to drive the vehicle.

While I was stopped in traffic, my wife accidentally touched the trunk release button while she was tuning the radio. The trunk lid opened. I pulled out of traffic as soon as possible so I could close the trunk lid. The car manual indicates that the trunk lid will open at speeds under 3 mph or less. It seems to me that the trunk lid should not open when the transmission is engaged.
