failing struts failing struts failing struts

Update: Located a performance shop over the weekend who installed new Bilstein struts & new sway bar end link on our 2020 Connect. The installation went very well without any issues. The installation took approximately 4 hours to complete. The Tech informed us that these factory struts had completely failed by not having any articulation or recoil. One of the front coils was supporting the van. If you notice poor handling and a more pronounced forward rake to you van, you will need to have your struts inspected and replaced. Note: The plastic cowl (forward of the windshield) will need to be removed in order to access the strut towers. After the installation, the van handles like it use to and even better. The new struts has lifted the front end of the van to factory specs. DO NOT hesitate in having this fixed if your van starts experiencing handling issues, deep forward cornering dives and as small amount of wheel hop.

failing struts

After 2 years of driving a 2020 Ford Transit Connect, the factory struts have started to fail on us. Granted Maryland roads have not been favorable because our power company has been tearing up the roads to lay new gas & water lines. The Van seems to be cornering very hard, all while driving very hard into and through corners. We're going to have to have the struts then the rear shocks replaced with upgraded performance struts as to avoid having Ford replace the failing strut with the same motorcraft brand. The difficult part is that most of these struts have been manufactured in other counties and because of the supply chain, we're having to wait 4-8 weeks for delivery. If you van isn't handling correctly, I'd suggest having your suspension checked out or have a new set of struts installed on the van. It is extremely rare that the motorcraft struts would fail within a 2 year time period and this item is not covered under your basic or extended warranty.
