problem #1

Apr 201997

Windstar

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,500 miles

i HAD THIS CAR FROM THE SHOWROOM ABOUT TWO WEEKS WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WENT INTO OVERDRIVE ALL BY ITSELF AND GOT STUCK THERE. TOOK IT TO DEALER "THEY SAID IT WOULD TAKE TWO WEEKS TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AND THAT IT WOULD ONLY BE A REBUILT ONE. i HAD TO FIGHT TO GET A LOANER TO GET ME TO WORK. This was the first of many extreme problems with this FORD I bought new. I still have it but guess what TRANSMISSION BROKE AGAIN...SECOND PROBLEM, SLIDING DOOR LATCH BROKE, HEADLAMP FOGGED UP, ALL WHILE STILL NEW AND UNDER WARRANTY. THEN CRAPPED OUT WHENEVER IT WANTED TO SO TOOK IT TO DEALER THEY TOLD ME IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. i COULDN'Y BELIEVE IT THE CAR WAS STILL NEW. AFTER LOTS OF TRIPS TO THE DEALER AND LOTS OF FIGHTING AND AS I GUESSED IT WAS RECORDING KILOMETERS NOT MILES. THIS CAR CAME FROM CANADA. THEN THE WINDOW CAME OFF THE ROLLERS "I HAD TO PAY". NEXT THE CAR WAS SHAKING AND RUNNING EXTREMELY ROUGH AND I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALER. THEY CHARGED ME BIG BUCKS FOR TRANSMISSION WORK, TOOK IT HOME NEXT DAY STARTED AGAIN BECAUSE IT WAS ENGINE TROUBLE TO BEGIN WITH NOT TRANSMISSION. THEY WOULD NOT FIX IT WITHOUT MORE MEGABUCKS. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER FORD IT WAS A LEMON FROM THE BEGINNING.
