1998 Ford Windstar. ABS pump has failed and brakes are not working properly. There was no brake light on dash to denote a problem and nothing coming up when tests were run on computer. All mechanics thought it was the master cylinder and as a results I had 5 put on the van from christmas 2003 to present. Called Ford directly and said that they would note the problem, but nothing that they can do to fix the problem. I cannot drive my family in the vehicle as afraid of having accident in result of pump not functioning. Cost just for pump is $2200 not including labor. Very upset that Ford will not stand behind their product and attempt to help.

From the date of purchase, January 2002, brakes and ABS system has failed, peyton-cramer Ford has charged us to replace an ABS ring, 2 sensors and a tire. After all of these repairs peyton-cramer Ford has failed to correct the braking problem and now they want to charge $1,300 for a new ABS system. The vehicle currently has 40K miles. The transmission has currently gone out as well within the past week. I feel that this matter should be investigated because I feel that this vehicle is a lemon due to the low mileage on the vehicle and because of the multiple problems with this vehicle. Peyton cramer Ford is unwilling to assist with the current ABS problem. The transmission will be covered because I currently have an extended warranty on my vehicle. However, the ABS is not covered by my current extended warranty and Ford motor is unwilling to offer any goodwill assistance with the repair.
