Windstar Limited V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 158,000 miles

When driving, locks would go up and down by themselves, floor and rear overhead lights would flash off and on, looked like a disco light show! Passenger side windows stopped working completely and front passenger door does not unlock when unlock button is pressed. After about a month the locks and lights stopped, have no idea why. To this day, the windows do not open and the front passenger door does not unlock when unlock button is pressed. It won't lock either, have to manually press it down to lock and to unlock, have to reach across the vehicle to pull the handle to open door. Just live with it because I can't afford a new one right now!

Windstar V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 130,000 miles

The flashing lights, dinging, and door locks going up and down are scaring my kids! They need poltergeist therapy. At night people next to me think I'm crazy. Plus my dummy lights are all on most of the time. The mechanic said its an electrical problem but had no solution. For the sake of sanity- please help.

I feel like my 2001 Ford Windstar is possessed !!!!!!!!!!! The buzzers all go off and on and off, the locks go up an down constantly, the interior lights go on at will, especially when I apply the breaks. The safety blinker on the drivers side mirror goes on and off at will. The door open light stays on and now the check engine light is on all the time. I am so sick of it. I had it in 4 times while under warranty and they adjusted doors etc and it would quit for awhile and then start up again. Now it has started again and I am at my witts end. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.
