Overdrive function faulty in transmission. During cold weather stability trac kicks in and will not regain power even though there is no bad road conditions (such as snow, ice, or rain) it seems to activate when the weather is cold. It barley moves inhibiting normal traffic flow which is very dangerous. Fixed moon roof leaks causing the electrical components to malfunction and rain water drips on passengers and thoroughly soaks the carpets leaving a mildew smell.

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was applied numerous times. In addition, the transmission failed to function properly when shifting and various warning indicators illuminated. Within a week of owning the vehicle, it was taken to the dealer (shoreline auto group Inc, 2275 N state rd, ionia, mi 48846, (616) 523-6882). The dealer kept the vehicle for over a month due to no sound for the turn signals, various warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel, and the vehicle was slow to pick up speed. The dealer was unable to replicate and diagnose the failure for over a month. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for further diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failures months later to determine if they may be able to provide a solution to repair the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 14,000.

Upon entering the highway the 2007 Acadia would not shift either into or out of 3rd gear, I'm not sure. I could not tell what was happening and when I determined this was not going to correct itself I exited the highway. I've recieved a letter from GM stating that vehicles equiped with 6T70 and 6T75 6 speed automatic transmissions are experiencing cracked or fractured wave plates. This clearly is a faulty part as it is occurring on many versions of this vehicle and has been upgraded. I was lucky in that it was only me in the auto and not the entire family when this happened. Very dangerous.

After taking my vehicle to phil moore Buick GMC on 10/16/2014 and paying $1341.10 for repairs after a check engine light indicator, the check engine light came on again on 10/20/2014 and caused the vehicle to slow from 60 miles per hour to 20 miles per hour on the highway. When the vehicle was returned to the dealership ON10/21/2015, I was told there were additional repairs needed on the engine at an estimated cost of $2789.18. Because repairs had just been completed on the same area 5 days earlier, I called the GM corporation and I was informed that repairs to the engine should have been covered under a recall and the dealership should have noticed the recall at the time of service.

This car is dangerous. Driving 65mph on freeway when every service and warning light went on. Replaced entire instrument cluster and replace ipc, could have killed us and others. Also engine was removed to repair engine front cover leak at 39,000, now at 85,000 same leak repair is required at cost of $2926. That means every 40,000 miles you need to spend $3000 and have engine removed. Power steering always made whining noise which I was told is normal. At 85,000 was told steering rack and pinion gears need replacement and I am sure the pump needs replacement as well $2000. When driving on the freeway could not stop on exit without brake pedal being pushed all the way to floor, stabiltrak light on could have killed us or someone. Had to replace brake master cylinder. Water pump was leaking after engine was put back in from 1st repair of front cover engine seal. Timing chain has stretch you can hear it, but they only added thrust washers. Rear liftgate - while loading groceries lift gate free fell closed on daughters head. Was told rear lift gate shocks failed. Could have killed someone. This car is a death trap. Don't buy it.

I was driving home from work around 5:05pm on the 5 North freeway going about 65 mph. All of a sudden my check engine light went on and I felt a sudden loss of power in my acceleration. As I stepped on the gas more to keep up with the flow of traffic, the RPM needle jumped up to between 4 and 6 on my gauge, but my vehicle wasn't going any faster so I had to steer to the right to get to the exit. I was barely able to exit without almost getting rear ended but I had no choice as my vehicle would not go over 40mph. After getting it checked at the nearest shop, I was told that it was a stuck solenoid. After I got that fixed, 4 months later, same problem, but now the dealership is telling me they will have to rebuild my transmission due to a broken wave plate, which will cost me at least $2800, which I don't have.

I was traveling at approx 40 mph in town, the vehicle felt like it bogged down, odometer still showed 40mph but I was not going anywhere, car behind me slammed on their brakes, car behind him slammed on their brakes, I was honked at all the while I am pushing on the accelerator, after 10 or 12 seconds it went forward with the RPM's going very high and mph went to 50 and back to 40 immediately and I went forward. It scares me to drive this car and from what I have read just today, I am not the only one having the problem. Please do something about this before someone is really hurt.

My car would not go over 40 mph on a highway and the rpms were shooting up to 9,000. I safely made it to a parking lot and when I went to leave the car would not move in reverse! I had to push the car, with my 5 children in it, out of the spot!! (I'm a tough chick but this was crazy!). I got the car out of the lot and was able to slowly make it home. My car is only 10 months past warranty and we will be stuck with a big bill. I think it should be covered or GMC should reimburse the repair fee.

On Monday, with my children in the car, I started noticing that the car was not shifting correctly. I did not think much about it. Then on the wed of that week as I was driving in a major city downtown area for the morning commute, the engine light came on... I was at a stop tried to accelerate and the RPM's revved. Stepped on the gas and the car would only go 1 to 2 miles an hour then speed up... dealer said that there were "many parts in the pan" and that I needed to have transmission replaced. $3600 plus tax or have it rebuilt $3300 plus tax. Called GM after reading the various post on edmunds about the Acadia problems. They were very nice and opened a claim but as of yet, no one ever called me back. When they opened the claim they said someone would be in touch within 2 business days (and they would see what they could do on saving me some money on the bill) as I was due back at the dealership to pick up my car.

On this particular day I was merging on to the freeway (which speeds of other traffic was upwards of 65 mph). I attempted to accelerate and in doing so was unable to switch gears. The vehicle "bogged down" and nearly caused an accident as I wasn't gaining speed. This issue repeatedly happened on my way home, traveling a distance of 60 miles. This malfunction according to some discussions on edmunds is well known by GM! it needs to be more than fixed, the transmissions need replacement. A bandaid isn't going to work in this case.

Engine light on vehicle, the vehicle will not shift into gear - happened three times had to pull off side of road to not get hit from other vehicles and 5 year old was also in car with me. Had to shut off the car multiple times to get started again and for it to finally shift into gears. Took car to dealer and they replaced transmission control module valve. On 4/1/13 car would not go into reverse on incline. Had to drive forward and reverse on flat area, dealer now says they found broken wave plate and burned 3-5 reverse clutch. Also found internal defect park of valve body. Car is only 5 years old and has only 55 thousand miles on it. Saw other issues on this database all with broken wave plates on 07 Acadias. Paid thousands of dollars to get this fixed.

After spending $370.51 at my local GMC dealer for stabilitrak errors resulting in low fuel input into the engine, with a maximum speed allowable at 35 mph, my 2007 GMC Acadia is once again experiencing stabilitrak errors. They generally occur when I roll to a stop at a stopsign or stoplight, but I am very concerned that the transmission will reduce speed when I travel the interstate. My local GMC dealer claimed this problem was caused by a "cam exhaust position sensor fault" and replaced the "cam exhaust position sensor" on 3-20-13 for $370.51. For one week this repair worked and there were no stabilitrak errors. Ten days later, my 2007 GMC Acadia fwd is worse than ever, endangering me at night by shifting suddenly into "stabilitrak error, low fuel input" mode. I am terrified that my GMC dealer will charge me more money to pretend-fix this problem, as they have me coming in for $400-$1,100 repairs every other month now since they want to sell me a new car.

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Acadia. The contact was attempting to park the vehicle 1 mph with steady pressure to the brake pedal when the vehicle abnormally accelerated and crashed into a building. The contact engaged the brakes harder but the vehicle would not stop. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was available. The contact stated that there were damages to the front end of her vehicle and to the building. The failure and current mileage was 35,000.

When we were looking at the GMC Acadia and going out for a test drive, we mentioned to the sales rep that the acceleration was very sluggish. He responded that it takes mileage to warm the vehicle up. We have 15,000 miles on the vehicle and it still is sluggish. We have brought the vehicle back to the dealership 4 times to resolve this issue. Driving in the rain and/or snow is very hazardous, and going up hills, since it lacks acceleration, it causes the tires to spin out. We have gotten stuck going up a hill in rainy and/or snowy conditions. This is very dangerous and needs to be fixed once and for all.
