This car was purchased used with 140,000 miles all recalls were supposed to have been dealt with at time of purchase. I've had to replace a transmission and multiple other transmission related items, the seat belt broke a couple months ago which was supposed to been replaced., The tailgate comes down on your head after initiating which was supposed to been recalled and repaired. Catalytic converter constantly triggering an engine code.

Received a recall notice for lift gate prop rod recovery system / gas struts issue notification in August 2015, shortly before we began having issues with the lift gate. Kept calling dealer in regards to recall. Was told I would be notified via mail when the parts were available. Parts not available until late November 2015. FINALLY got an appointment for Dec 7th, 2015.

During Aug-Dec, the lift gate kept falling on family (unloading groceries and other items that had to be stored in the back). NOW, upon completion of the recall, I find out that the lift gate will not work by remote (only manual) and that I need to replace the motor and latch parts for $1091 because that's not covered under the original recall.

MY ISSUE is that had they had the parts in August, or a reasonable time frame, when the recall was first issued, the motor may have not burned out trying to keep the lift gate open due to the prop rod recovery system / gas struts issue.

When a recall is issued, make certain that parts are available in a timely fashion.
