This complaint is in regard to the technical service bulletin 14823, special coverage adjustment running lamp inoperative (May 12, 2015). This has not been an official recall yet, however I am having issues with my low beams and DRL not working on this car.

My drivers side running light stopped working. I have tried to get to the connection to remove the bulb but don't know how it is connected as it is in a very difficult position and mostly hidden. Cant turn or pull it out. I notice many GMC Acadias with one running light out all the time. I looked and no recall. Does anyone know of other ways dealers inform buyers of problems such as through a notification? So now I either turn the automatic lights off or fully turn them on. Any suggestions on DIY on changing the bulb without breaking the bulb or reflector?

Thanks

Jay

when I first notice, left daytime running lite was out. while replacing bulb, the socket had shorted and melted into the reflector, when removing the bulb, reflector cracked and broke. but not enough to so job could not be completed, now was checking if there is a recall on subject running lights. also didn't replace both sides because light is working and I notice that the right side has the same problem of the burnt or melted spot.

damn was a pain in the butt to replaced the running lights.. seems I will have to order the reflector for these lights. hoping I don't have to replace the whole assembly.

it was a DIY job, retired helicopter technician, so it not that I was bull in a china shop..
