Envoy

  • Automatic transmission
  • 96,000 miles

I was driving home from the store when I glanced at my speedometer and noticed I was driving 80 miles per hour in a 45 mile an hour zone and cars were passing me. When I stopped at a red light, my speedometer read 35 miles per hour. Currently my 2005 GMC Envoy is parked in my garage and the odometer reads 35 miles per hour. I love the ride of my Envoy, but the Envoy is slowly falling apart. Just the other day my fuel gauge went to way over the full mark, and is currently stuck there.

Envoy 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

I was at a traffic light one day and happened to look at the speedometer - it said I was going 85 miles per hour!! I watch the speedometer for the rest of my trip and noticed it varied in speeds and eventually dropped to zero while I was driving. I took my Envoy to a GMC service dealer and before I could finish explaining the issue, I was told "it's the speedometer module and will cost $539".

There are days when it is pegged to the top of the speedometer, and other days it doesn't read anything at all.

Envoy XL 6.0L

I had bought this Suv over two years ago used and It has been a pain in the butt every since. I love the space inside, but I have had problems after problems with the car. I will not but anymore GMC made vehicle and it will be a while before getting something else so, I wont flip upside down on my payments. I will save to buy fairly new next time, When I do get a car.

First time it happened, we were on our way to Ohio for a funeral and we got a speeding ticket because the speedometer didn't work right. Cost us over $200. Now it never works at all!

Envoy SLT 4.3L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,541 miles

We had a stretch of cold weather and while driving home one night, my wife noticed that when she decelerated to exit the Interstate that the speedometer was stuck at 50mph and would track your speed +50. It continuously declined upon restart of the vehicle until back to normal. However the next week. It failed completely. Its an absolute joke, especially after replacing our fuel level sensor.
