Cpsc#I1290600A. 2007 GMC Envoy. Consumer stated the fuel gauge has been sporadically working. The consumer stated after she filled the tank, it would go empty, then back to full. On one occasion, as she was driving on the freeway, the vehicle started to slow down. The gas gauge read full, but apparently, the vehicle was out of gas.

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Envoy. The contact stated the fuel gauge sensor failed. The gauge would display the fuel at low levels whenever she would refuel the vehicle. The dealer advised the vehicle would be repaired but at the contact's expense. The manufacturer was not contacted and the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 45,143.

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Envoy. While driving at 55 mph, the contact noticed that the fuel gauge no longer functioned. She had to fuel the vehicle every 250 miles because of the failure. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership where the contact was informed that because the vehicle was no longer under warranty, she would be responsible for all repair costs. The vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000. The current mileage was approximately 60,000.

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Envoy. The fuel gauges on the instrument control panel inaccurately displays the amount of fuel present in the fuel tank. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection. The technician stated this was a common failure for her model type. He then added that the failure was not covered under warranty, so she was ineligible for a free remedy. The current and failure mileages were 39,200. Updated 3/8/10 the consumer also stated that the rear hatch was inoperative and when it rained the windows would get stuck. Updated 05/13/10.
