This problem is just about as bad as having the motor blow up. It's such an inconvienience to worry about how much gas you have in your vehicle. Nonetheless paying cash for your gas and having overpaid and go back in to get the cash back.I have ran out of gas twice, once locally and the other on my way out of town to a very important doctor's appointment in which I didnt make it and had to cancel cause i was stranded on the freeway.

Took the car in to the dealer and he said,"GM is aware of the problem but they have not issued a recall on this problem. But they are willing to pay for half of the repairs." I said that if they know there is a problem they should pay for all of the repairs. I then said this is exactly why people do not buy American made vehicles. I assured him I would not buy another GM product ever!

GM needs to recall this piece of Sh... with the gas gauge not working. Why sell faulty products for thousands of dollars and refuse to fix it. GM should be ashamed of themselves for treating consumers the way they do, who buy their vehicles in good faith.

I drive my Envoy everyday and don't know when I might run out of gas. I don't know if it is the fuel level sensor or what. But I do know that my gas indicator stays on empty no matter how much gas I put in my tank. SHAME On YOU GM........

GMC will not cover this malfunction 100%. They will pay half the bill if and when I get it fixed. The car ran out of gas one day when I was traveling a back road with no shoulders, and I had to pull as close to the ditch as I could without parking in it, in order for other cars to pass. It was a dangerous situation and one that should not have happened if GMC had admitted they have a vehicle with a defective part. I have ONSTAR in the car that helped with assistance. I have been quoted prices from 300 to 650 to repair this problem, but I don't feel that I should have to put any money out of pocket when GMC should take care of the repair completely.

I really do love this SUV but it is a HUGE problem to have to worry about whether or not you are going to run out of gas. Yes I do use the trip odometer every time I fuel up but in the back of my mind I'm constantly wondering is this accurate?? I've noticed several other complaints online about this very issue! Why does it take someone getting hurt for there to be a recall issued?

GM should be ashamed of themselves to sell a piece of crap like this SUV. How are you suppose to gauge your gas when the gas don't register on the meter. I ride around worrying that I might run out of gas They have a nerve to say they will pay 50% of the cost . They need to recall this crap. They need to pay all of the cost. I can't afford to get it fixed at this time. I'm also paying vehicle payments on it ! This is terrible !

I too had had very similar incidents. I was on the busiest interstate in GA which is 285 in the fast lane when all the sudden my my car started slowing down. I quickly maneuvered over to the shoulder of slow lane with tractor trailer trucks and cars on my tail. Then the wheel locked up and engine stopped with the booty of my car hanging in the road. Now, I knew I had plenty of gas because I am not one who will ride around on E. Looked 2 see my gas gauge and it was sitting on Endow, I am also one who is observant. When pumping the gas. I did not see any fuel leakage. Gauge stayed like this there after. Now, I have to calculate my mileage which is a bummer. My warranty with dealership is over. I asked the mechanic how much. He said around $450.00-$500.00. I don't have that either with working from payck to payck..

Then I recently received a letter from GMC about any customer who is having any trouble with there gas gauge before or right @ 100,000 miles. They only want to pay 50% of the repair bill. I don't have that either. GMC should be footing the bill period! Their problem, but want me to continue paying their mechanic and the banks car note. BUMP THAT!~Cking into what I can do to keep me from paying!

Filled my gas tank the first couple times the gas gauge would move off E and fall right back down to E one day it just didn't move off of E and I had to sit and calculate how many miles I had driven to know how much gas I had - I drive 120 miles/day for work this was a pain in the a**

I have only had this vehicle since September 2011. It is a 2007 but only had

18,800 miles on it when I bought it. I have had a constant leaky valve on one tire, which recently seems to be holding steady. My main complaint is the gas gauge stopped working a couple of weeks ago. I thought someone had stolen gas at first because it was almost on empty and when I filled up it only took 5 gallon of gas. Now the gauge goes from full to empty to half or stays on empty all on the same 2 mile drive! So now I just have to watch the odometer and get gas when it gets to 250 miles. My local mechanic said it will probably cost 600.00 to fix and I can't afford that right now. Does anyone know if this is covered under warranty?
