Sierra 1500 SLT 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 142,915 miles

Never in my life have I heard of a GM transmission going, but it seems like that's all I have heard from people with a 2015 and up. They must be buying their transmissions from Dodge because they couldn't build a transmission to outlast any vehicle that I have ever heard of.

Sierra 1500 SLE 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 122,000 miles

Was out of town on vacation three states from my home town. The transmission started skipping and slipping and making noises. Checked the fluid and it was fine. The truck still drove but was not right. We were in the country and I drove 25 miles to a transmission shop. I was advised to keep driving and manually drive in 3rd gear. They said the damage had already been done and to go ahead and drive back to my home after the vacation.

The truck drove the same the entire way back over 500 miles. It was worse at lower speeds in the cities. I took the truck to a local transmission shop where I took the service on a ride to demonstrate my problem. After a short ride he gave me several options. They were all expensive $3000 or more in all cases. He told me my best option was to go with a GM certified rebuilt transmission. I was told the this option would give me a fresh warranty of 100,000 miles on that transmission.

That cost me $4400.00 and put a bad ending on a previously enjoyable vacation. I had just spent $1000.00 on a new AC Condenser only several months before. The AC problem was known to be a common problem but not a recall. The transmission shop service writer told me the 2015 GMC Sierra with my transmission was also something that was a common malfunction and that in his opinion should have a factory recall. Very disappointing as I have been a lifelong GM truck owner..

Sierra 1500 All Terrain 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 300 miles

We Leased a 2015 GMC SIERRA ALL TERRAIN, and we loved the truck, a week after purchase, we had to take it back for vibration on the wheels and slipping type or issue on the transmission, we were Told by Doreen (aka, the Pitbull) that it was normal according to the technician in this type of vehicle, and the wheels were balanced, a couple of weeks later I brought it back, as the wheels were still vibrating not at 65 but at 75 mph, I then brought up again the issue about the transmission and fug light gone bad twice, as well as the vibration and it was then when the Pitbull aka Doreen Told me, in a manner insulting and degrading that they were not going top break the law to speed over 80mph to test the wheels that problem will never go away, among other insults, I wrote a complaint against her and refused to go back for their service, My original complaint went from Headquarters to GM and to Service Manager who called me and agree with me and nothing was done, the Pitbull still at the Service Gate, so I Started going 32 miles away to Edmorse Chevrolet where they treated us like people, like consumers, and not neglected children, this of course adds miles to my lease yearly limit, not to mention Gas and time, but to me was worth it, Good Service compensates for extra expense, at least in my case, SO my wife decided last service to go to Lehman again, not only we were not expecting a $450.00 bill for service on the lease, but we told the Service writer, NOT TO ROTATE the tires, as the front one were brand new, and that’s exactly what they did, NO ONE, not the technician, not the writer, had enough common sense to see the newer tires in the front and say Well lets leave it the rotation for later, they put the bad tires in the front, would you have your family and children drive around with the best tires in the rear and the no so good ones in the front?

So we went again to Edmorse GMC. And guess, what, I was RIGHT all along, there was an issue with balancing of the tires, or wheels, that needs a Special kind of balance, that cost $168.00 that I have to pay now because The pitbull and her crew failed to do something about it, instead insulted me about it, and the transmission issue, you guessed it, I was right also, there was an issue with it, I felt it all along and it got worst, so The new Writer at Edmorse told me, because the vehicle has 35,000 miles he has to charge as per GMC rules, so where were the rules when I said over and over at Lehman GMC, now am paying for it, do I love the truck, you bet, will I buy another GMC? You guessed it, NEVER, only because the Service rendered is not to the standard of the product, the new service writer at Ednorse, should have considered my complaints, and look into the history of my vehicles issue and see that I brought it up before and nothing was done about, and this service writer should have gone to bat for me in that regard, and not impose GMC rules that failed me before, originally my wife an I were going to buy a Yukon Denally and the Sierra, we never did buy the second one, and after this experience, we may go another brand although we love the GM Escalade and the GMC line, so I hope you can look into this and this time do the right thing, about it, not just for us, but all your consumers, that are trying to go back to buying American. But when you run into these things, makes Toyota and other brands, look much better.

The Dealer I bought it from, should have taken care of the problems, and apologize for insulting me and my wife and our intelligence. You bet am taking this to BBB, to the media and Social network, is not about the money, is the principal. Am also letting GMC Finance know so they can adjust , my miles and also see who is servicing their customers, the same customers paying GMC bills.

Sincerely

Miguel Torres and Belgica Renee Gomez. CEO for A1A Total Sercices, and FAM Cosntruction
