Sierra 2500 LS Vortec 6.Ol V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,000 miles

If we do not start up and drive the GMC, the battery will be dead as a door nail. We have changed batteries to an expensive Optima. Alternator tested and functioning properly. We now have to disconnect battery after usage and connect it again when we want to use the truck to keep it from dying. Or continual jump it.

This is NOW our second vehicle and do not drive the GMC unless necessary, what a shame.

2010 GMC Sierra, battery drain after 24 hours

did somebody experienced same problem?

GMC Sierra 2500 HD, August 2010 one year later I had left the truck inactive for 10 days ( went away), tried to start the car- battery was dead, wasn't thinking bad, boosted and drove the car but I did experienced that if the car stays more as 24 H battery will be empty. after 5 month I decided that it was to much to have same experience on and on and payed a visit to the dealership and told them my problem. they took the car overnight to test but they come out that the battery need to be replaced. ok for that only to see that less that 10 month with the new battery same problem exist if I do not drive the car 24 hr battery will be dead. I bought a booster to help me out and yesterday I visit the same dealership only to receive today the news that the battery need to be replace again and that they can't find anything else. I told them that I'm not happy with that. BTW they want that I pay the carrental because they couldn't find the problem and that I have to pay a new battery if I want to be replaced because the battery is the problem. I do have extended warranty for this car but they don't care. have one of you experienced same problem? I live in Vancouver. BC.
