problem #1

Sierra 2500 SLT 6.6L

  • Automatic transmission

engine coolant leaking and coolant bubbling in reservoir

The truck has only 121,377 km on the diesel engine which is just outside the warranty window by 3.5 months. This is a known problem to General Motors and they have issued a bulletin to GM service centers to replace both head gaskets, but hasn't issued a recall to date. The truck owner's are left in the cold when their outside the warranty window which is a substantial cost of approximately $7,000.00. The purchase price of these trucks was in the $70,000 to $80,000 range in 2011. General Motors needs to take responsibility for substandard components on their vehicles and repair such issues at no cost to the owners. I am one of many GM owners that request that GM stand behind their product and make things right.
