Sierra 2500 SLE 6.6L Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 46,845 miles

I have a 2011 GMC Sierra 2500HD with Duramax and Allison trans. On Thursday afternoon I was trying to leave a job and got in truck after leaving it run for 15 minutes. When I got in the truck I noticed that the check engine light was on and I had no transmission gear indicator. When I put the truck in reverse and it moved very slow and in drive it took off like it was in 2 gear. Took to dealer because codes said issues were with the shift module on the side of the transmission and that is covered by warranty. Dealer calls and says truck is ready and it was electrical connections.

Picked up the truck and drove 5 miles to my house. Let truck sit for couple hours I went on an EMS call, which the building is 5 miles from my house. After the call I tried to leave the building and had repeat problem. I made it home and when I tried to use truck an hour later the indicator under the letters would flash and then give message that said 'shift inhibited select n to reset'. Tried several times, didn't work. After 7 totals of restarting the truck, I was able to get it to move. By the time I got to dealer the check engine light was back on and it was back to starting off in 2 gear. Dealership is now saying it is an internal module in the trans. Has anyone else had similar issues?
