GMC, I am emailing you in regards to safety features of our 2015 GMC Sierra denali not working properly. The rear seat belts do not lock and they do not retract without assistance. We asked the dealership locally if it is recall related issue and they said we would have to pay to have them fixed. This is an issue with a safety feature and it should be replaced/fixed at your expense. We have family friends who were involved in a collision on I70 with a bear, in a GMC or Chevy and their little boy almost died because his seat belt faulted to lock and keep him safe. Since knowing that was a huge issue, it is important to us to pursue getting this fixed. It has been like this since we bought this truck in 2016. We look forward to hearing back from you regarding this matter. Passenger seat belt does not allow freedom of movement after breaks are applied with constriction of passenger. Only way that owner or passenger can release the seat belt lock mechanism is to unlock the seat belt while vehicle is in motion causing safety hazard for the passenger. Owner took vehicle to dealership and given estimate of $950+ to fix this issue.
