Sierra 2500 Danali Durimax

We notified GM of this issue in June 2019. Since the problem only occurs during high Temps, in August 2019 they sent an engineer out to research. The engineer acknowledged the problem and that it was a known issue impacting trucks in AZ and NV. We were advised they were working on a fix. 10 months later, temps in AZ have hit over 100 many times already (June 4) and still no resolution from GM. GM is pushing us to allow them to install a pusher fan that would run all the time when AC is on, but they have no idea what the long term implications of this solution might be. Up to now, because my boyfriend works for Liberty GMC, I’ve been patient. Now they are pressuring me to wait another 8 months for a fix, meanwhile my warranty is evaporating, and with temperatures in excess 100, I have a very expensive driveway ornament.

Unfortunately, they can’t simply give me a new same vehicle because it’s likely a design issue for the Model and year. Plus, I have a maroon color with black interior with 7500 miles, so no comparable vehicle in same year is a avail. They don’t really want to replace it with a 2020 because the MSRP is about $8,000 more. My perspective is, if the engine went, they’d have to replace it under warranty at a much higher cost, so I don’t see the difference. There’s a known problem, it’s under warranty, they should make it right at no cost to me.
