problem #1

Nov 122020

Terrain SLE-2 V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 61,757 miles

GPS Navigation system, rear camera, CD player, cell phone, clock, outside temp., mp3 decoder, radio data system, sat. radio, audio for turn signals and audio for seat belt, and display all run through the radio. I bought the Terrain in Oct. and 1 month later everything was dead. During that month it would stop for no reason and after 5 min. or a whole day, it would come back on.

Because of the stopping the settings wouldn't stay. I know the dealer knew about the radio problem but they sold it as is and I paid cash for it. The sale price was $11,789, but by the time they added all the crap it cost me just under $15,000. When I took it to another dealer to check what was wrong, they charged me $150. They asked me what was the problem and I told them I thought it was a short in the radio. After they checked it they told me there was an internal short in the radio (duh) and it needed to be replaced for $2,287.

I guess I am not the only one. Many people have had the very same problem after the mileage went over 55,000. I am on SS and do not have thousands of dollars to throw around.
