problem #2

May 022017

Terrain ES 4 cyls

  • Automatic transmission
  • 65,244 miles

It was fixed at no cost however, it is annoying to have this done with a low mileage car

problem #1

Terrain SLE 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 66,000 miles

engine sounds like a diesel when you start driving

I saw other complaints just like mine on this website for 2010 and 2011 GMC Terrain's with the same 4 cylinder engine as mine - the Terrain sounds like a diesel engine when you take off from a stop - it goes away after 20 MPH but sounds like it is falling apart or going to blow up under 20 MPH. I never saw any resolutions where the problem was actually fixed. I want to go "armed" to the dealership with as much information as possible before they tear my truck apart, replace 15 items, and the problem still isn't resolved. Did anyone get this problem "fixed ?" My Terrain is a 2012 and the problem started 2 weeks ago at 66,000 miles.
