Terrain 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 68,000 miles

OIL IS CHANGED EVERY 3500 MILES. 2 WEEKS AFTER LAST OIL CHANGE IN APRIL, I NOTICED OIL LEVEL WAS LOW. I ADDED 3 QUARTS AND CONTINUED TO CHECK IT DAILY. SINCE THEN I HAVE ADDED ONE QUART BUT ENGINE BLOWS WHITE SMOKE OUT OF TAILPIPE AND SMELLS OF OIL.OVERFLOW TANK WAS ALSO LOW OF ANTIFREEZE. A RECALL WAS ISSUED ON THE 2.4 LITER ENGINE, BUT ONLY APPLIED TO 2010 TO 2013 MODEL YEARS.THE COVERAGE BACK THEN WAS EXTENDED TO 10 YEARS OR 120,000 MILES. I DONT KNOW IF THIS COVERAGE ALSO APPLIES TO 2018 AND UP MODELS AS WELL SINCE THEY SEEM TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. CAN ANYONE SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS OR HAVE ANY UPDATED INFORMATION. THANK YOU.
