Yukon 4WD 8-cyl Diesel

  • miles
1995 Yukon fuel and brake lines were diagnosed as having potential rust. A year prior to this incident the brake lines near the master cylinder rusted to the point of failure. The fuel lines on top of the sending unit also rusted to the point of failure. The brakes locked unexpectedly at low speeds without pressure on the brake pedal. It was determined that the right rear lower brake anchor was shearing off the backing plate, going to one side, consequently allowing the brake shoes to engage without brake pressure. Yukon 4WD 8-cyl Diesel

Fuel lines rusted to the point of failure. The vehicle wouldn't start and had to be towed. The sending unit and first section of fuel lines are one piece, so the sending unit also had to be replaced. I do not drive this vehicle on the beach, nor has it been in a flood. Fuel lines and sender replaced a high cost.
