problem #2

Yukon

  • Automatic transmission
  • 85,253 miles

The Stabilitrack light and check engine light (Engine losing power) illuminates while driving down the street. The car goes to idle and has no power to accelerate, almost got rear ended by another car trying to get to the curb. Once I got to my daughter's school, shut engine down and I waited 15 minutes to restart. Stability track light and check engine light was still on. My husband raced the motor for a few minutes and the car accelerated normally. This has happened several more times and is an extreme hazard! I am now afraid to drive the car!

I have read numerous accounts of this happening to other owners of this model vehicle and dealer has no resolution to fix the problem, they just charge consumers for parts that are not really resolving the issue. I have to take the car to the dealer for this matter and hopefully they can find the issue/problem.

*This is dangerous for all drivers and will cause a fatality in the near future, something needs to be done!!!

PLEASE HELP.

Yukon XL 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 160,000 miles

TRUCK WILL RUN OK FOR ABOUT 20 OR 25 MILES, THEN IT EITHER STARTS LOSING POWER AND SLOWING DOWN AND MAKING A HORRIBLE KNOCK SOUND, OR IT JUST DIES GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. PULL OVER AND STOP FOR A FEW MINUTES AND IT WILL START BACK UP AND RUN NORMAL FOR A WHILE. HILLS ARE REALLY HARD ON IT. TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS COME ON USUALLY BEFORE IT STARTS CUTTING OUT, BUT NOT FOR THE TIMES IT JUST DIES.
