Accord EX

  • Manual transmission
  • 156,000 miles

Well lets see my problem all starts with, not being able to crank it and it wont stay on.

The Statistics:

I have a 91' Honda Accord Ex, it's a manual transmission and it has roughly 156K miles on it. I just purchased the car about two weeks ago from a private seller who ripped me a new one. I have never had so many problems in such short time. First I found out that I have to replace the clutch because there is only about 45% remaining and its not wanting to accelerate very well. I just replaced a fuse for the coolant fan because it was blown, and found out I have to replace the blower for my A/C, which in the end is better than the initial guesstimate of the compressor. I have to replace a seal from my radiator because its leaking water out and now to top off the cake my car will not start. I don't know if any of you know the trick to starting a manual transmission car when it wont crank with the key, but if you put the car in second, get the car rolling and quickly take the clutch out and in while pressing the gas it will start. So thats the way I had cranked it, because otherwise it won't. Yet when I was driving home from my friends I was making a turn I pressed the clutch threw it in second and before I knew it my car had stopped. Come to realize the RPM's won't hold above idle, they fall all the way down and the car thus turns off. the only way I could get home was to floor my RPM's up everytime I had to stop.

If somebody could please help me, I would appreciate it greatly. I am not completely literate with cars but I do know a few things here and there.

Thanks again.
