Accord EX 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

fMy engine light just came on. I took it to a mechanic, who said it was the sensor. After paying over $500 to have the sensor replaced, I drove for about 2 months and the light came back on. I took it back to the mechanic, who had no clue what the problem was. I eventually found a new mechanic who also tried replacing the sensor. After the first time and it came back on, he advised me that the check engine problem is common with Hondas. He thoroughly checked the car and told me that unless something significant happened, I should save my money. After a lot of timing to pass NYS inspection every year, I've been driving for over 4 years with a check engine light. Any suggestions?

Accord EX V4

I don't know why but i just bought this car from a 2nd owner and me being the 3rd owner now, the damn "check engine" sign came up the very next day after buying it. Now is that just tough luck or what? I mean how does that happen and its the most scariest indicator for me. i mean i would have to think twice on going on a long drive or across states. I don't know what the solution is but i was wondering does anyone know how i can make it go away? or has it ever happened that the light came and it automatically goes away? i sure hope that a thing like that happens to me...

Accord EX 2.4L

  • Manual transmission
  • 160,000 miles

Well it started as a check engine light, then i found out what codes they were which were. P0301 & P1399. The first thing that came to my mind was to replace the distributor cap, spark plugs and spark plug wires. Then the problem is still there. So now i don't know what to do next. please someone help me.Thanks.
