Accord EX 2.3L 4 CYL

  • Automatic transmission
  • 140,000 miles

Handle and all components suddenly came off after backing out of a parking space and placing the car in drive. I immediately drove to the nearest dealership. They quickly reassembled it at no charge. However, it came apart 2 more times over the next few weeks. I personally resolved the problem by replacing the 2 screws with a longer screw.

Accord LX 2.3L V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 13,000 miles

I purchased the car with an ex-spouse soon after we bought it we noticed the handle to the gear shift would come loose but we would just tighten the screw and it would hold it down again. But one day we were parking the car and while trying to put in park the whole handle with spring and screws and all went flipping around. We lost the screw and in the mean time almost hit the car in front of us because my ex was fumbling and forgot the car was not in park. Which of coarse you can not change gears until you push the button on the gear shift. So I had to dig around in the car looking for the parts and put the thing back together so we could park.
