problem #1

(reported on)

Accord EX 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 77,700 miles

It just came on suddenly. Started my car in the morning and hear a whirling noise coming from underneath the hood. The rest of the day it was okay. Next morning it happened again. It was due for an oil change so I brought it to my mechanic the following day and mentioned the noise.

I got the phone call that the noise was coming from the steering fluid as it was below the minimum line. There was a leak. They needed to replace the power steering rack at a cost of $1100 US.

So much for a reliable Honda, I just had the transmission rebuilt last year for the 2nd time!
