Accord

  • Manual transmission

From the start when I obtained this Honda Accord (35K miles) it would kick on and off a lot and intermittently it would just blow hot air. I took it in and asked Honda if they had any problems and they said no. Then it just quit working. We put Freon in it and it worked for a short period of time. When we put Freon in it next it blew cold for a matter of hours. There were holes in the condenser as well as leakage out the lines. I had it fixed and it is great at blowing cold air around 45 degrees.

Last spring I turned on my air conditioning on the first warm day. After running for a few moments, realized the air was actually hot. Had it checked by my mechanic. Refrigerant was full, electrical working, but compressor clutch not engaging. Have not had problem fixed because I do not have $1,000. And no air conditioning is a major problem because I have allergies and seasonal asthma and this is my only vehicle. I think Honda should own up to this problem and repair the vehicles.

On our way to a funeral (an hour and a half trip), when we hit a bump in the road and the air conditioner suddenly stopped blowing cool air. It was a miserable drive and we had someone with us that was in a wheel chair. By noon it felt like a 110 degrees. We had to find a ride home for the family member who was in the wheel chair.

Sister and I drove the car back with cool packs on our legs and every window open. We stopped every 20 minutes for cold water to splash on our faces, arms and legs. Suddenly the last 30 minutes of the drive, a large dark cloud appeared out of nowhere and it blocked the sun. It was our relief from having a heat stroke.

Can't tell you how mad I am. This is my 2nd Honda and my 2nd problem with an air conditioner. I thought the first Honda was just a fluke issue, but not anymore. My first Honda was a Honda Accord. Going to cost $99 just for a diagnostic fee. I called everyone related to Honda about the issue and no-one gives a hoot.

Serious note. Don't drive without air conditioning in 100 degree weather. We were very Blessed!

I will post how much the end issue cost and how it was handled.

My air stopped working almost a year into making payments. They gave me a line about a rock must have hit the compressor and it would be a grip to fix. The power steering has gone out and now it overheats. This is my fifth Honda but I'm done...Honda kiss my ass
