Radio stopped working. It started with the radio just popping, squealing, making loud static noises and the cutting out. This would happen randomly and then later it would work normally. This random pattern continued for about 18 months. sometimes the radio would go out for minutes, other time for days or even months. Finally, last September (2017) it went out for the last time and hasn't worked since. You can turn the radio on and there is a short delay until the controls respond. Then the controls work but no sound other than static, screeching and then nothing. I contacted my Honda dealer in Fort Wayne, Indiana and they said they never heard of the problem and would have to charge me $99 just to look into the problem. I asked if I bought an aftermarket radio, even an OEM radio off ebay if they would just install that. They said they would only install a Honda-sourced radio which I found retails for about $1000(f*ck that). There are numerous videos on youtube for replacing this model of radio and I've ready dozens of posts on various sites stating similar or exactly the same problem. This IS a Honda radio problem without a doubt. Honda's service call center just gave me the run around several times when I sought help there. However, there are aftermarket direct replacement units that replace the entire radio/nav/AC control unit and fit close to like factory. You can find them here: www.seicane.com . I am not endorsing their products as I have not purchased one at this time. It is an interesting option for anyone with this issue.

My 2007 Honda Accord has and is serving me well. This is a radio problem which after 11 yrs, and 165,000 miles, is an annoyance, but not pertinent to transporting me from point A to B. The problem began several months ago with intermittent screeching, static, then silence... after turning it off and turning it back on, initially it would work. As time has proceeded, it played less and less, with more static and screeching. Presently doesn't play at all. So now, my question is how much does a repair typically cost for this problem, and what exactly is this problem? Will be checking with a mechanic tomorrow who changes my oil. They do not however do electrical work, but can refer to someone.

Update from Nov 27, 2018: I received an estimate at Cartunes in SE MI to repair my faulty radio with GPS, of $250. Technician said it's a common problem for 2007 Hondas and a few years prior to 2007 - a reflow problem, that can be repaired by soldering. Requires taking out heater/AC. I have yet to repair it, but technician seemed very confident that is my car's problem and is very fixable.

I have read about this problem happening to other people as well so it is a Honda problem. My radio makes a loud crackling sound and cuts out. Sometimes it will go back on, sometimes it will not. I tried replacing the speakers but that did nothing but cost me a bunch of money. It seems to be a problem with the radio. Judging by the number of videos available on how to replace the broken radio; it is a Honda problem. I have never had another car radio problem before this.

This problem started last week. While driving down the road at no particular time, I will hear a loud pop/crack noise and then my speakers stop working. The radio display tells me that the radio is still on and the volume is still up but I hear nothing. I have to turn the radio off for about 3 minutes then turn it back on and the sound will work again... This happens randomly, sometimes as often as every 5 minutes to a couple times an hour to maybe once an hour. There is no rhyme or reason. I called the dealership and they say this is not a problem that has ever been reported. I find it hard to believe because I have found hundreds of comments online about this very problem. But I cant seem to find a service bulletin or recall or solution that wont cost $1000 bucks! If anyone has any answers, please help!!

My battery died yesterday and when I had the car jumped, the radio stopped working.

Only thing showing is the word CODE. I don't know the code or how to enter it.

Then I search for help online and find this site but the guy wants $29 before he even offers to help.

So I read the comments selection and see others with this problem saying the code doesn't work and that the radio is gone forever.

That just sucks! Does the manual have a code in it anywhere?

Can they fix this at a dealer? Any ideas?

I love Honda's, I have owned 5 in my 16 year driving history. I will say though they do come up with little annoyances that can drive you nuts, but the engine will still run. My wife had told me that the lights were on, but no one was home on our car radio. The display was working as well as the blower. No volume whatsoever. I upgraded her to our '10 pilot and tookover the Accord. Well I had the same thing happen to me and boy it drove me crazy. I visited a radio dealer, then my dealership too no avail. Everyone wants to take tons of cash for bull. I let it go and one day everything was back to new. I say well I guess cars have their good days and bad too. Sorry, No Solutions Here, but if you have one please post Thank You. BTW, I am buying a Subaru next.

So the freakin windows quit working in my car. Then the radio quits working...it gets power. just won't turn on. the anti theft light flashes. the ac/heater still work. but no radio. no sound. NO NOTHING!!!! it has flashed the code thing before when the battery went dead. but now it does nothing. i have always loved Honda's. this is my 3rd one. had them since i was a teenager. but everyone of them have had some kind of electrical issue. rather it be interior lights, odometer, speedometer, radio, or widows. all of them have had something go wrong.
