EVENTS - NORMAL DRIVING. HOW OFTEN - EVERY TIME DRIVING THE AUTOMOBILE. WHAT WAS DONE? NOTHING. DEALER STATED THIS IS NORMAL PERFORMANCE OF THE VEHICLE. DESCRIPTION - HEADLIGHTS DIM WHILE DRIVING THE AUTOMOBILE. I STATED TO THE DEALER THAT I AM CONCERNED ABOUT, THE VEHICLE WILL BE POORLY ILLUMINATED, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH. HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THAT THIS IS A NORMAL PERFORMANCE FOR THE HONDA ACCORD. I AM FEARFUL OF DRIVING THIS CAR AT NIGHT DUE TO THE AMOUNT THAT THE HEADLIGHTS DIM. DEALER ALSO PROVIDED THE "PRODUCT CHARACTERISTIC" DOCUMENT AND "HONDA SERVICE NEWS" FROM 2000 DESCRIBING THIS PROBLEM IN GREAT DETAIL. I WAS NOT INFORMED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM PRIOR TO PURCHASING. HAD I BEEN I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED THE AUTOMOBILE. BEWARE!

Accord LX 4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,500 miles

My headlights blink also. I've gotten the same explanation about the bulletin and how "normal" this is. I'm irate because apparently this bulletin has been out long before I purchased the vehicle. They say it's normal. Well, why doesn't any other Honda have this problem?????? I'm currently going through the lemon law process. I'll let you all know what comes of it.

problem #2

Feb 092008

Accord EX-L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 26 miles

Drove vehicle off the lot and noticed tire pressure monitoring system light indicated malfunction in the system. At night the headlights blink each time the air conditioning compressor kicks in. This is annoying and distracting. Contacted dealer who said they would look at the tire pressure monitoring system, but that it is normal for the headlights to dim or blink when the compressor comes on. I argued with the Service Manager who has agreed to take another look at the vehicle. Be cautious about the electrical problem associated with the headlights. Test drive the vehicle you are thinking of purchasing at night with the headlights on. No other problems noted at this time.

Accord EX-L 4 cyl

BAYTOWN HONDA, BAYTOWN, TX, WAS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND DID NOT WARN PRIOR TO THE SALE. THE HEADLIGHTS (AND INTERIOR LIGHTS) FLICKER WHEN THE AC UNIT IS TURNED ON IN THE 2008 HONDA ACCORD. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT FIRST CLAIMED THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, THEN WHEN I CONTINUED INQUIRING ABOUT IT THEY PRODUCED A HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN WHICH INDICATED THEY DID NOT TELL THEY TRUTH ABOUT THE PROBLEM. BAYTOWN HONDA SERVICE DEPARTMENT ADVISED THEY CANNOT REPAIR THE PROBLEM BECAUSE IT IS WORKING AS EXPECTED. APPARENTLY HONDA EXPECTS THEIR LIGHTS TO FLICKER WHICH IS A DANGEROUS DISTRACTION TO THE DRIVER AND OTHER DRIVERS.
