Vehicle has been consuming oil since purchased with 9,500 miles. Oil consumption has contributed to fouled spark plugs. Fouled spark plugs triggered "cylinder #3 misfire" code and extremely poor performance at highway speeds. Two different occasions the car experienced different cylinder misfire issues. Honda dealer performed engine computer software updates on two different occasions that did not remedy the oil consumption issue. No warning lights to indicate that the engine was 3 quarts low on oil. If the consumer is not aware that the vehicle is using oil, there is potential for the engine to seize causing costly repairs or to lose power in a dangerous situation. Dealer is now performing Honda oil consumption test. According to Honda, consuming 1 quart of oil in 1,000 miles is normal and acceptable. This burned oil is being released into the environment as evidenced by the black carbon on the tail pipes. It is hard to believe that a leading car manufacturer would deem oil consumption in a brand new vehicle as normal or acceptable. This is the first vehicle out of 12 that I have ever owned that consumed oil. Even vehicles with over 200,000 miles did not consume oil. I purchased a Honda so that I did not have to worry about reliability or break downs for many years. Now I have to worry with checking the oil every week as to not get low or run out. Same vehicle has also had premature rear brake pad wear and had to be replaced at 60,000 miles. Complaint has been filed with american Honda. Class action lawsuits have been filed against Honda over the premature rear brake pad wear and the oil consumption issues.

Uses excess amount of oil. Have to check daily. This is not normal. Have heard there is some kind of leak into the engine and a class action lawsuit. This should be a recall!!! also, metallic paint is peeling- very cheap and stereo system components not working. Also makes a loud weird sound from engine when it first starts.

Check engine light came on due to misfiring and fouled #3 spark plug. Also, between motor oil changes at 35,761 miles and at 43,140 miles, approximately 2 quarts of oil were added due to excessive motor oil consumption.

2009 Honda Accord. Consumer states problem with check engine light and dashboard indicators. The dealer informed the consumer a bulletin had been issued regarding the respective problem. The supposedly fixed the problem, and the consumer left the dealer satisfied until Jan 30, 2012, when the check engine light illuminated again, generating several other dashboard lights, and once again the vehicle was running on a reduced cylinder. On August 18, 2012, the check engine light illuminated again and the dealer charged him $525.43.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis. The dealer advised the contact that the vehicle tracking control (vtc) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure continued. The vehicle was repaired a second time but did not correct the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 29,000 and the current mileage was 42,000.

As a result, the vehicle emitted a loud noise and exhaust fumes were present in the interior. The dealer attempted to repair the failure on numerous occasions, but was unsuccessful. The manufacturer was not notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 63,000.

The manufacturer was contacted and a case was opened but was later closed to no avail. The vehicle was not repaired. The current mileage was 21,919 and the failure mileage was 7,000.

The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the oil was replaced. The contact since noticed that the vehicle was consuming oil at excessively abnormal rates. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 5,000 and the current mileage was 11,000.

The contact owns a 2009 Honda Accord. The contact was driving approximately 65 mph when the "check engine" warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle would not increase acceleration when pressure was applied to the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the technician informed the contact that one of the spark plugs was consumed with oil. Also, the engine oil level was low. The dealer placed an order for a new spark plug to repair the problem. The failure mileage was 25,127.

She added a quart of oil and the next day the vehicle was taken to the dealer who also added a quart. She stated that every 1,000 to 1,500 miles the dealer had to add a half to 1 and a half quarts of oil. The failure mileage was 13,000 and the current mileage was 20,500.

Upon restarting, the check engine and vsa service lights were illuminated on the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that one of the cylinders registered a misfire. The dealer reset the computer. The failure recurred the following day and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The contact was advised that the vehicle was consuming excessive amounts of oil yet the dealer could not repair the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 34,000.

I have a 2009 Honda Accord. I began having problems with the A/C not cooling, so I took to the dealership for assessment. I was informed that a line was not working and I had a freon leak. They placed dye in the fluid to determine where the leak originated. They determined it was coming from the condenser. This part is located in the grill of the car and isn't protected in any way and they decided it had been damaged, without proof, from something I had hit, such as a rock. They then inform me that my full warranty does not cover it, and informed me it would cost $432 to repair. They also cannot guarantee that it will not occur again and again. The freon continues to leak and will not cool the car. It also causes a foul smell to come into the car. I do not believe consumers should be responsible for paying to replace a part that is put in a place that is vulnerable to debris or anything, without protecting it in some way.

This is the second time that the oil pressure light just comes on in the car, it starts bucking and is impossible to drive. I was on a 50 mph highway both times it happened. I'm lucky no one hit me. I only have 17,000 miles on my car. I have had 4 oil changes, one tow and 2 check ups on the vehicle for oil related problems.
