Accord EX V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 43,000 miles

My car is having it's transmission replaced as I write this because it was causing a roaring/whining noise while driving and decelerating about 40 mph. Before being properly diagnosed, two Honda dealers and two other repair shops said it was normal tire noise. When I took it back to the second Honda dealer after several months, the service manager test drove the car and noticed the sound was coming from the transmission. After they troubleshoot the car and discussed it with Honda corporate engineers, they determined the transmission needed replacement. It should be done tomorrow or the next day (8 - 9 wording days in the shop), so I should know soon if the fix was successful.
