Also the side of the center console. I have leather seats and all my years of owning cars with leather my head rest or center console has ever looked like this.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that he noticed that the driver's side seat failed to adjust as needed with an abnormal clicking. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact made a local dealer aware of the failure; however, the vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The contact referenced the failure to TSB 17047 (Clicking from the Driver Power Seat While Using the Height or Tilt Adjustment); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 51,000.

The construction of the driver-€™s seat in this 2018 Honda Accord is poorly made. There is not enough padding in the seat to protect the body from the mechanical steel inner workings of the seat. I can feel the inner workings of the seat when I drive this car. I previously owned a Honda CRV and I know that this is NOT normal. The CRV was and still is a very comfortable vehicle as our daughter now owns it. There would not be any protection for the driver of this 2018 Honda Accord upon impact with another vehicle. Now I know why this vehicle had only 5161 miles on it when we purchased it July 12, 2021. It is THAT uncomfortable. I only drive it to the grocery store and back. I suspect that was the case with the previous owner as well. Otherwise, this car looks to be in pristine condition as it obviously was garage kept and still is garage kept. It feels like a jalopy.

Terrible pain in legs, especially left leg, and buttocks when driving this car. Have tried every variation of seat adjustments (and do have lumbar support) and pillows, but no help. My physical therapist says it is best to sit with spine and legs at 90 degrees, head straight on top of spine. This car seat forces head forward and butt lower than knees. After several months, I gave up -making me miserable. I was luckily able to go back to old car which is more comfortable. It can't be safe to drive when in this much pain. I have also tried most of the other iihs tsp sedans and would really like to have the newer safety devices (like back up camera, adaptive cruise, lane keeping assist, blind spot alerts) but all seem to be just as uncomfortable. Can't our engineers manage to meet safety and comfort needs? thanks.
