Accord Sport 1.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 32,311 miles

The collision mitigation system stops abruptly and is a real hazzard specialy when you in the highway at cruising speeds when you. This error occurred multiple times already and usually in the highway when you depend on it to safely stop or slow down the car for you.

Honda is charging for a patch update which supposedly fix this issue. A major safety issue like this should be a recall ASAP!!

Accord Touring 2.0t

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

This is a serious safety issue. The Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system malfunction and almost caused me 2 accidents in the last month when the system malfunctioned and stopped working in its own.

To reset the failure, the car has to be power cycled which add additional annoyance and make the system unusable during driving.

According to Honda, there is a service bulletin SB 19-051 released on May, 8, 2019 that address this issue through a possible PGM-FI SW update.

During my oil service I brought this issue to the dealer so they can verify the PGM-FI SW and update it if needed. However, dealer wanted to charge me $160 as a diagnostics fees and they additional fees according to what they could find. Although my car is under 3 years, but the total milage is above 36k mile. So for Honda and the dealer, the car is out warranty for a big safety issue like this!

I truly believe that this failure is a big safety issue, and the fact that Honda has a service bulletin for it, means that they confirm the existence of the issue. Therefore, the fix should be free of charge.

Needless to say that this issue was present from the first year of car purchasing, but I never took it seriously as I was rarely using the ACC system and the error doesn’t get logged in so when I ask the dealer they said they can’t find any traces of it.
