Both rocker panels rusted through, had to have both sections removed and welded new panels in, and repainted.

rusting rocker panels both sides

Excessive corrosion in both wheel wells. I'm going to a body shop for an estimate but expect that they will want to replace the rocker panel sheet metal which will be very expensive.

Accord Hybrid Touring

  • Automatic transmission
  • 130,000 miles

The rust seemed to just appear last year, and the paint is bubbling. The extended warranty expired. I spoke with the dealership’s service department and they said it is not covered. I thought maybe there was a recall. I was leaving the supermarket and I walked to my car, but it wasn’t my car, it was another white Honda Accord with the rust in the same places. Very frustrating, because the car has been well maintained. I did go to a body shop and I was told it would be very expensive to replace the parts which are rusted. No price estimate was provided as the shop was short staffed at the time.
